Introduction

The digital revolution has happened with many clients having online assets and digital pathways in addition to traditional assets.

This new virtual classroom seminar will focus on the changes you need to understand to keep pace with the ‘digital’ aspects of private client work.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • What are digital, quasi-digital assets and digital pathways?
  • Cryptocurrencies - what they are, how to identify them and how they relate to your practice
  • Addressing the duty to investigate:
    • Where and how to locate digital assets, quasi-digital assets and find the digital pathways
    • What needs to be included in an estate and is excludable?
    • What is the value of digital assets?
    • Strategies and approaches to non-financial digital assets
  • Issues of taxation in relation to both CGT and IHT in light of HMRC updated guidance on crypto assets

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
