Introduction

It is probably inevitable that disputes will arise in the workplace. Many of these will be solved by the employer and employee talking to each other. However, there will be times when it is useful to bring in an outside body to help resolve the problem.

In this virtual classroom seminar we will look at a number of different scenarios, and identify how it would be most appropriate to approach the dispute resolution process.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution
    • The difference between arbitration, conciliation and mediation and the situations in which they are most appropriate to use
  • Bodies that can help
    • How to engage the help of Acas, and situations in which they can help
    • Central Arbitration Committee
  • Dispute resolution - employment tribunal claims
    • How to approach Acas Early Conciliation
    • Working with Acas when they are facilitating settlement once a claim has been made
    • Judicial Mediation, what it is and when it is appropriate to use
    • Acas Arbitration Scheme, what it is and when it is appropriate to use
  • Internal processes
    • Grievance schemes, when to try to resolve a situation without an external body
    • Appeals, understanding the grounds for appeal and using them as a way of resolving a dispute

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
