Introduction

Rather than looking at the causes of burnout and how to manage it, this virtual classroom seminar will explore burnout from a different angle and will examine how and why the management of an employee might be classed as ‘discriminatory’ - for example if ‘stress’ and its associated problems are classed as ‘disabilities’ under the Equality Act.

HR expert Helen Cleare will discuss the measures that employers can put in place to reduce the risk of a receiving a grievance connected with the way that burnout has been dealt with. Helen will also provide employers with useful hints and tips, so that they are better placed to defend themselves at the Employment Tribunal, should a discrimination claim arise.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • The background to establishing stress/burnout as a potential disability
  • Why and how an employee might face discrimination in relation to burnout
  • Looking at the complexities of the legislation protecting the employee
  • The principles of reasonable adjustments
  • Help available in working through options to support the employee
  • What the employer is, and is not, expected to do for their employees
  • Reducing the risk of Employment Tribunal claims

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
