Guideline Hourly Rates & Maximising Costs Recovery - What You Need to Know
Introduction
After a stagnation of almost 11 years, Guideline Hourly rates have now returned since October 2021 and a more proactive approach has now been adopted to their future, as set out in the Civil Justice Council Report on Costs - Final Report May 2023.
However, some firms simply do not understand the process setting hourly rates and all too often remain entrenched in the same annual approach to increases, without taking full account of the numerous factors which by regulatory mandate should be taken into account.
This webinar will go back to grass-roots and demonstrate how hourly rates should be arrived at and supported in relation to any challenge, be that from a client or a paying party in litigation.
Learn from the 40 years’ experience of the speaker, Richard Allen, who has a background as a litigation lawyer, law firm partner, costs lawyer and leading pricing consultant.
This webinar will address the key rules and statutes dealing with both contentious and non-contentious work, the interrelationship between the Guideline Hourly Rates and the real world in practice and how to maximise rates and profitability.
