Residential Property & Fire Safety - Current Guidance for Surveyors & Property Professionals
Introduction
Since the Grenfell fire in June 2017, there has been a massive reform of the regulatory regime for fire safety, particularly for the design, construction and management for high-rise residential properties.
The changes include:
- The enactment of the Building Safety Act, which creates a whole new regime for the management of fire safety risks
- The creation of various new roles with responsibilities for each stage of the construction and occupation of multi-occupancy residential properties
- The developments of the EWS1 form, as amended to reflect the introduction of PAS9980
Anyone involved in the design, construction, management and/or valuation of residential property needs to be aware of all these changes, to protect themselves again the risk of claims.
This webinar will provide an update on all recent developments, along with advice on the steps that property professionals can take to ensure they meet the new regulatory requirements.
