Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - A Guide for Employees
Introduction
In October 2024 new legislation (Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023) was introduced, requiring employers to take reasonable steps to stop harassment of a sexual nature from occurring in the workplace. This is in addition to the Equality Act 2010, which makes harassment unlawful.
There might be legislation in place, but unfortunately harassment and associated difficult situations still occur. What should the employee who is on the receiving end of this do? What should an employee do if they witness unacceptable behaviour? How can the organisation support an employee who experiences something that is unacceptable?
This webinar will look at sexual harassment, from the perspective of the employee.
