Introduction

Sexual harassment has been unlawful for many years, but in the Autumn of 2024 we have new legislation coming into effect - which is the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023. This will require an employer to take reasonable steps to prevent harassment of a sexual nature occurring in the workplace.

What does this mean for the employer? What are ‘reasonable steps’, and what actions must an employer take? The Equality and Human Rights Commission released draft guidance on this in July 2024, and in this webinar we will explore that guidance in detail and explore what an employer might need to do to prepare for the change in legislation.
