Introduction

This virtual classroom seminar will provide a detailed exploration of the breach of duty and causation issues encountered in claims arising out of the diagnosis and treatment of spinal conditions. It is an area of clinical negligence litigation in which it is vital that expert and other evidence is properly understood and focussed on often complex medical issues.

This live session intends to give both claimant and defendant practitioner delegates an advantage in their handling of these cases.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • Delays in diagnosing cauda equina syndrome, looking at a number of recent cases and the evidential issues that can make or break cases
  • Spinal anaesthesia including Parsons v Isle of Wight
  • Negligently performed spinal surgery, including informed consent
  • Causation complexities

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
