SRA & AML Visits - Make Sure You Receive a Clean Bill of Health
Introduction
According to the latest SRA Anti-Money Laundering Report, the SRA supervise the AML requirements of 6,408 law firms in England and Wales.
During that reporting year they undertook 163 inspections, 109 desk-based reviews and brought 140 firms from partial compliance into full compliance.
Whilst most firms are doing the right thing and stopping dirty money being used in law firms, it has been widely publicised that the SRA have increased their resources so they can undertake more law firm visits and reviews.
So, what happens when the SRA inform you that they want to come for a visit?
For some there may be sleepless nights but with a little knowledge and some preparation you can get through this.
Do not take it as something negative but as a chance to get an MOT and be given a clean bill of health in-line with the with the AML regulations and requirements.
During this virtual classroom seminar expert speaker Jo Morris will guide you through the audit process, ensuring that if you have the correct documentation in place and your staff are following your policies and procedures then all should be well.
