Introduction

This new virtual classroom seminar is suitable for those within the financial services sector who have responsibility for tax governance and tax risk management.

At a time of heightened HMRC activity in this area; more detailed questions are being asked of businesses by HMRC in relation to governance; and there is a broader focus on risk management.

The session will explore the various governance obligations relevant to your role, covering Senior Accounting Officer (‘SAO’), Business Risk Review (‘BRR’), Publication of Tax Strategy, and Corporate Criminal Offences (‘CCO’).

If you have any responsibilities, or advise clients, in this area, then this session is for you.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • The thresholds for falling within the SAO, BRR and Tax Strategy regimes, and how specifically they apply to businesses in the financial services sector
  • Practical and pragmatic compliance in these areas
  • HMRC’s current approach to SAO and BRR and areas of focus (based upon recent client experience)
  • The link between these obligations and creation of a strong Tax Control Framework (i.e. the practical benefits of compliance with the various governance regimes)

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
