Introduction

Voluntary liquidations remain the most popular corporate insolvency procedure with CVLs accounting for 80% of all company insolvencies in November 2024.

MVLs also remain a popular option where a company is solvent but has reached the end of its useful purpose, and 2024 saw a significant increase in the number of MVLs, particularly before the budget.

This new virtual classroom seminar will explore both types of voluntary liquidations, and consider when each might be suitable.

It will also cover matters specific to each one, such as claims against directors and third parties in a CVL, and tax considerations in an MVL.

The session will also delve into some of the more unusual and complex points arising in each and consider relevant recent case law updates.

It is suitable for both lawyers and insolvency practitioners.
