Will Drafting - The Basics in 30 Minutes
Introduction
This short webinar will provide an overview of the key issues to consider when drafting a will for a client to ensure that their wishes are fully reflected and effective.
As well as looking at the various types of clauses to consider when preparing a will, it will also briefly consider testamentary capacity, execution of a will and the importance of preparing a thorough attendance note.

The webinar will cover the following:
- Testamentary capacity (a brief overview)
- Clauses dealing with the appointment of executors and trustees, pecuniary legacies, residuary gifts
- Importance of taking thorough instructions and what type of questions to ask your client in order to prepare the will
- Looking at your client’s assets, particularly property held as joint tenants and whether a severance of joint tenancy is required
- A review of your client care letter - what is/is not covered? How simple should it be?
- Execution of a will/formalities
