Introduction

This new virtual classroom seminar will take attendees through the complete lifecycle of a bankruptcy, starting with how to bring and oppose bankruptcy petitions, the work of trustees in bankruptcy and their statutory duties before looking at the end of the process, namely discharge and its consequences.

Along the way, the session will draw attention to the latest authorities and provide practical assistance both to experienced personal insolvency lawyers and those who deal with these issues only occasionally.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • How to successfully petition for bankruptcy
  • What steps can be taken to prevent a debtor from being made bankrupt?
  • What is the role of a trustee and what powers do they have to grow the estate’s assets?
  • When and how is a bankrupt discharged from bankruptcy?
  • When and on what terms can discharge be suspended?
  • What is the effect of discharge from bankruptcy?

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
