Rebecca Andrews-Walker
Partner, Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP. Rebecca leads the R&I team at Penningtons Manches Cooper. She advises on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, with particular specialism in in football, energy, biotech, education and retail insolvencies, often with a cross-jurisdictional element.
Rebecca ascertained a dual qualification in 2019, having qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner. Rebecca now offers a multi-faceted specialist service for clients, allowing her to advise on all sides of insolvency disputes, with the ability to see pragmatic cross-sector resolutions not limited to the legal remit. Rebecca has been connected with a number of high-profile insolvencies including Thomas Cook, Travelodge, Tough Mudder, Laura Ashley and Arcadia – despite much of her insolvency prevention work remaining confidential. She is recognised for her robust leadership, pragmatic and cost-conscious approach, and her ability to manage and resolve complex scenarios, often involving large multi-disciplinary teams.
Rebecca is an active member of R3, the ICAEW and Insolvency Practitioners Association (reserved for those qualified as Insolvency Practitioners), INSOL and RAIIDAR. Rebecca regularly has articles published in R3 Recovery, and speaks at industry events both locally and more widely. Rebecca regularly training senior professionals on developments in Insolvency Law. The team, under Rebecca’s leadership, holds both a Chambers and Legal 500 ranking, with Rebecca ranked in Chambers Band 1.
