Ashley Thompson

Prior to the Bar, Ashley trained and qualified as a solicitor and his practice focussed on high-value residential and commercial property litigation. He experienced the full spectrum of property disputes including possession proceedings (both s. 21 and s. 8), service charge disputes (commercial and residential), 1954 Act renewals, tenancy deposit claims, forfeiture by peaceable re-entry and forfeiture proceedings, break options, other breaches of covenant (e.g., unlawful assignment), and land registration issues. He has now had the benefit of dealing with, and arguing/defending, these claims from the other side of the profession. Ashley also has experience in the more niche areas of property law, including riparian rights, agricultural tenancies, and rights of common. His practice encompasses rating law (including having appeared in the Magistrates’ Courts on enforcement proceedings).
