Introduction

There have been wholesale changes to Public Children Law Cases, ranging from a Revised Public Law Outline as from April 2014, as well as the relaunch of the PLO in February 2023.

There have been developments in the law and procedure relating to Thresholds, bundle preparation, and Best Practice Guidance. It is essential that one keeps abreast of the expectations placed upon practitioners by the courts, clients’ and funding bodies.

This in-person course will provide a comprehensive account of the law and procedure surrounding this area. It will enable you to become more familiar and confident with advising and assisting at each stage of the process, whether you are acting for the local authority, parents, extended family members or the children. This course will provide you with a practical step by step approach to running care cases.
