Introduction

Buying and selling houses, whether leasehold or freehold, on an estate can be complex and raise their own considerations. More and more developments are being designed to include unadopted estate areas, such as roads, parks, gardens and parking areas, the upkeep of which are paid for by the homeowners on the estate.

This session covers estate management and the estate charge, advising buyers and sellers, common pitfalls and how to rectify issues.

  • Merging freehold and leasehold titles
