Introduction

The rapid development of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications is seeing exciting new technologies being introduced to improve productivity across a wide variety of sectors. For example, it is used effectively in cybersecurity to detect malicious activity, it is helping doctors and healthcare professionals with image analysis systems in cancer screening programmes and generative AI is being used in content marketing systems to help marketers generate content automatically.

This new virtual classroom seminar will focus on different types of intellectual property in AI applications (including generative AI), as well as steps organisations can take to secure and protect the intellectual property in AI applications.

The session will also look at drafting agreements to access and use an AI application and will examine expectations and concerns about the use of AI applications provided as a service (from both the supplier and business user perspective) particularly in the context of IP and privacy laws.

It is suitable for organisations that are using or planning to use AI and their legal advisers. It is also suitable for IP lawyers and technology/commercial lawyers with some existing knowledge of IP and privacy law.
