Introduction

As of 27 January 2025, journalists and legal bloggers will be able to report on family court cases across England and Wales in what has been described as ‘a watershed moment for family justice’.

The change comes after the success of a two-year transparency pilot and means the media will be able to inform the public about the decisions being made every day by family court judges.

This webinar will outline the new arrangements and the changes they have brought about.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • The general position on reporting of cases in the family court
  • A review of transparency in the family courts and the reporting pilots
  • Transparency orders
  • The specific changes including the Family Procedure Rules
  • BR & Ors, Re (Transparency Order: Finding of Fact Hearing) and later cases
  • What about the future?

This pre-recorded webinar will be available to view from Wednesday 9th April 2025

Alternatively, you can gain access to this webinar and 1,700+ others via the MBL Webinar Subscription. Please email webinarsubscription@mblseminars.com for more details.
